is it possible that bootmii install to boot2 ?
when the system menu updated to 4.2j
boot2 upgrade to v4
then the bootmii could only install as IOS.

It seems that We have the chance to rewrite boot1 area again? Am I right?

Any chance that you would be willing to sell your design for your nand flash emulator?

Hey, I have been a fan of you guys' work for a while now, and you have done some pretty amazing stuff lately!
I just wanted to show you my appreciation, as I plan to get started writing some Wii stuff soon. Maybe even an elf-to-wad converter :)
Well, maybe I'll get on #wiidev eventually, and maybe we can talk there :)
Later,
-SquidMan (Alex Marshall)

P.S. I am writing on an iPhone :)

Due to the sensitive nature of game edits when playing online, this topic is hardly easy to answer. On the technical side, it's a "maybe". You could develop a game-patcher, and due to the fact that IOS (i.e. Starlet) handles all DVD reads, you could patch data on the fly. Actually the Starlet is the perfect place for putting a Action-Replay-like cheat engine. But this isn't an easy task, and is much easier to accomplish when using a modchip. If the question is whether we want to support this, it's probably a "no, thanks". The risks of spoiling fun in online games is just too big. While the usual "if-i-don't-do-it-somebody-else-will" applies, hacking game content is generally considered as a bad idea, thus often banned from discussions, sometimes even more than piracy.

Technical solutions are always tools. It depends on you what you are doing with these tools, and we expect the owner of these tools to have enough common-sense to not do anything really bad with it.

I am extremely new to this, so I'm not going waste anyones time asking about in depth questions. But here it is: I want a simple "Yes" or "No," on whether this means we will be able to develop at some point from home WITHOUT a mod-chip?

The reason I want to know is FOR NO REASON piracy. The thing is, I want to join the game-editing band wagon so that I can add new skins to characters in Super Smash Brothers: Brawl. Whether you have any words pertaining to how I can hack Smash Bros Brawl, what I really need to know is, if it prevents the need of a modchip or even in the near future? Thanks for the answer, and if at all possible, email the answer to me. You can all understand that I had to run through a million forums to find this one. So I can't keep track of them all. Just do something nice for me (which most forumers never do0 and post AND email me the answer. Either way, thanks.

Tyler: Actually I used a soldering tip dubbed as "roofer's tip", with about 1mm width. If you solder strictly into one direction, you don't need a finer tip (because obviously there is nothing to destroy on the other side), so you get the advantage of a really good heat transfer. But I'm really no soldering pro, I just practiced a lot on SMD.
